For some reason wearing Che Guevara’s face on a shirt has become fashionable rather than a statement of one’s political beliefs. How can so many faux revolutionaries/trend hoppers wear Che shirts while still eating lies and propaganda fed to us by the media/ US education system about Fidel Castro and the Cuban revolution? How can Che be glorified in American fashion and Fidel (his comrade) be vilified in American text books and the news. I was personally disgusted when I learned (against my prior education) that much of Cuba’s struggles were in direct relation to the inhumane policies of the United States, and that Fidel (although not perfect by any means) has made huge leaps in leveling the playing field for many poor Cubans. Point :: knowledge is invaluable, especially before jumping on the political fashion bandwagon.
